My Second post is about graphics... yes!

So, in my first post I mentioned I spent a few months looking at sites for inspo and resources for this site. But I was thinking to myself about how most of the stuff I found just stayed in my bookmarks folder and I completely forgot about them.

I prefer to make my own backgrounds specifically, because of 2 things really:

1. Accessibility

2. At the time of me making this site, I didn't have the energy to go back and start scrolling for hours for pictures

I won't go on for too long about the first point as people have spoken about this and will talk about better than I could, like this post by PinkVampyr (a old tumblr mutual of mine!!) read their blog post here!

But based on my own experience I have found that a lot of websites that clearly had loads of time spent on them and talent put into them are really hard to read/navigate, because yea, some people want their website to look identical to those from 1995-2009, but that also means gifs moving at rapid paces are placed all over the pages or even used as backgrounds, and while it looks cool as fuck (I mean it!! no hate!) it really does make the experience not as enjoyable as i'd like it to be, and I dont even have severe photosensitivity.

I get it, its to fight against the corporate obsession with advertising and minimalism – thats part of my motivation too – butttttttttt idk I want people, and myself really to actually enjoy looking at my website.

I will say, my page isnt the best and I have a lot to improve and learn on here and I dont think im better than anybody else but that was just one reason I decided to make my own stuff.

Secondly, I knew I would spend all day looking and compiling stuff instead of getting on and coding. I have made many false starts over the past few months, Where I start coding, it looks great, I fuck up the structure or whatever, I try to find a solution online and can't find anything that helps so I delete all my code and give up for about a week until I try again. This time I've just been trying out different things/improvising and things are working out! I also feel I work better in things like photoshop and clip studio paint.

I am not a coding bitch, I like to magic erase backgrounds, use the graident tool and dust off my wacom tablet. If I could make my website in photoshop I would, but I want to get the hang of coding – and its not like its hard anyway, I already know the basics, my problem is that I'm just impatient.

So far the only background i've made is the one on my about me page, I purposefully exported it in shit quality btw, it looked awful in HD. Don't get me wrong, I obviously have images that arent mine on here, I didn't spend all that time browisng for no reason, and thats honestly the most fun part of making a site imo. I also get lazy and will eventually start using the tile backgrounds I find because theyre cute!!!!!!
